Destroy has known for a few months now that he has wanted to be Darth Vader for Halloween. Gone are the days where I can dress my kids up in anything for Halloween and have their approval. So I managed to find a sweet Darth Vader costume at
Marshalls complete with light saber, light up suit and cape for 20 bucks (now I know that it's actually a pretty cheap pain in the tail because I've had to fix it a few times). I also found a Yoda costume perfect for Search but he refused to wear it except for once when I got the picture. We even let him watch the part in Star Wars where Yoda fights Count
Dukoo with his light saber but it didn't impress him enough I guess. So I went out one night an
exercised my use-of-credit-line ability and purchased seven costumes to take home and he could pick one so I could return them all the next day. Of course the one he really wanted, the tiger, was too small. So then he said he wanted to be the M&M. So he tried it on. Then he wanted to be the lion. So he tried that one. He, and we finally put a stop to it, finally decided on the puppy. So we have a "nice Darth Vader" as Destroy says he is, and a puppy. Aaron and I are the odd couple, a priest and a witch. Aaron said that his preferred method of killing me would be drowning. Lovely.

I think it was mostly Aaron who vetoed the M&M idea. He looked a like a fruity M&M. I kind of agreed but didn't care much at this point. I just thought his little two year old legs sticking out the bottom were about the cutest thing I've ever seen. But I honestly think this is the best picture I've ever gotten of them. Together. At one time. Happy. Smiling. Eyes open.
Ahhh...

Here's our clan last year at the ward's trunk or treat. Didn't we get best group costume prize, gardener? We had Sully, Mike
Wazowski, Boo, a random monster and the adults were the
CDA. We had fun making those costumes. Or I guess I should say, the gardener had fun making those costumes since she did most of the work. We did find the boys' costumes at a second hand store for cheap.

Mike and Sully.

Year before that Destroy was a frog. We went to the "Brick or Treat" at
Legoland that year.

Search and Ladybug were chili peppers. They were thrilled and tired.

When Destroy was one and Search was in
utero, Aaron and I went as cowboys and Destroy was our pony.

And the year before that, we were welcoming a new baby. Julia, you remembered correctly. This picture was taken at a med school party the day before Destroy was born. I was a football player and painted my stomach like a football, and Aaron was my "coach". People kept wondering if my belly was for real. I was wishing at that point that I didn't have a belly anymore and that the thing would just come out!

That is a great picture of the boys! And...I agree the legs sticking out of the costume are the best part! I can't believe you had Destroy the day after the one picture was taken. You looked great! I looked and felt like a beached whale by the time Ellee finally came!
You are so incredibly creative at Halloween! I'm impressed! If I need an idea, now I know to come to you next time!
Super cute costumes. It's always fun going as a family theme.
I love dressing the whole family in theme costumes. Super cute costumes and I totally vote for the M&M costume.
My all time favorite is the football player and coach! I love it!
I LOVE the one where your belly was painted! What a way to incorporate the pregnancy! I planned on going as a nun when I was hugely preggo, but a nun costume is hard to find in a small town! I bet you'll have tons of fun this year too, The kids looked happy in their outfits!
I love Halloween too much- and this was perfect. I loved being able to see all your Halloweens. Have to say, the Monsters Inc. theme is a particular favorite.
Those pictures are HILARIOUS! I can't even pick a favorite . . . maybe the last one! I can't believe you painted your belly . . . and it was a day before you had Destroy! That's hard core!! All of your Halloween costumes have been amazing and SO creative!!
