Easter this year made me realize how much my kids have grown up over the last year. Dyeing eggs last year was more of a pain in the tail than it was fun. They were more interested in spilling the color and smashing the eggs last year, so it wasn't so much fun for me. But this year! They were really excited to do it and they had so much fun. I think we sat around the table for over an hour dyeing the eggs. And the best part was that they didn't sit down with the intent to mutilate them! They actually wanted to do something constructive.
They each picked three colors. Search, or course, picked orange. And yellow and red. They carefully put their own eggs in, lovingly turned them and gently scooped them out.
The best thing about Easter eggs is the photo ops! Well, at least it would have been if my camera hadn't pooped out. So, this is all I got.
Aren't they pretty colors?
We were successful, and only a few eggs cracked in the process. I can't say the same for today though. The boys playing with the eggs has subjected them to further damage. Oh well, Easter's over. Maybe we'll have egg fights now!

The eggs look amazing! How fun!! You take great pictures. I love the swirly designed ones. What brand did you use?- only our pink ones really worked out, the rest were weak sauce.
We still need to dye our eggs. Yeah...we're a little behind. We got a camo-egg dye kit this year--guess who picked that out!? I love that the boys were so meticulous with the dyeing.
We used the Paas tye dyeing kit. It's basically just a plastic mold with holes in it, a small cloth that you dampen and wrap around the egg, and a syringe. You put the egg wrapped in towel in the mold and inject the dye through the holes. It's fun to see how it turns out. I'm saving it all for next year!
Gees Meg. You are quite the photographer. I'm impressed.
How fun! I love the vibrant colors. I love Easter pics!
By the time we got around to ours, I was grumpy and mad (we had an incident) but the kids still had fun. And I got some good pics to remind them of the fun (and not my grumpiness).
I love your Easter eggs. :D
And your boys are so handsome in their Easter clothes!
We didn't even color eggs this year. And no one got Easter clothes, since the girls' dresses still fit from last year and the boys had their suits from Christmas. Actually, this is the third consecutive year that the girls have worn their Easter dresses. I didn't think they were that big when I bought them, but I guess they must have been.
Oh my gosh! Look how big and darling your boys are!! It's been far too long, Megan. I'm so glad to be connected to you via blogworld. That is so funny about your trip to Kirtland. That must have been soon after I went home. The restaurant was RJ's. We love that place--the owners are darling. Also that is so funny that you happened to go to church in the Chardon Branch and that Krista showed up! That was actually my first area and I remember the first time I walked into her parents' house for dinner and saw her picture on the fridge and made the connection--so funny! Your family is darling--I'm excited to keep up with you on your blog!
beautiful photos!
Tag-you're it! Visit my blog for the rules!
Colorful eggs! I love the tye dyeing look. Two dozen eggs!! Wow! Did you eat any? We did one dozen. I had Brandon dye them while Taylor was sleeping. Then when she woke up and they were dry, they colored them and put stickers on them. Fun and less messy!
