He's FIVE!

I can't believe that my first kid is 5 today. I'm kind of freaking out! On saturday we had a little par-tay. I'm not a huge party-thrower so I tried to talk him out of it (and tried bribing him with other things :), but he couldn't be persuaded. It ended up being pretty fun and I kind of went a little crazy on everything, like I knew I would. Which is why I didn't want to do a party. Mean Mom.
The invite:
The friends:

The fun:

ARRRRR we having fun yet???

The cake (I stayed up until midnight):

The best part (according to the kid), opening presents:

The favors (hers and his):

The tired Mom.
The working Dad, MIA :(
The happy 5-YEAR_OLD!

What fun! Tell Wes Happy Birthday from us. Too bad we were not there. I miss getting together with you. Looks like the kids had a blast! And you out did yourself. Very nice cake! I have never been into the whole decorating the cake thing. I like cupcakes more.

Taylor just had her birthday yesterday. We didn't have a party, just a family day. We went to the Zoo Saturday which was Boo at the Zoo weekend, opened presents and had frosted brownies after fhe on sunday, plus in her nursery class she got to wear a crown and her teacher brought in a special treat, and then today they sang happy birthday to her in her preschool class and gave her homemade cards from each classmate. So, she had fun! Plus gift from extended family and ours. Now Brandon wants to play with her girl
y younger toys!!

Wow... I'm impressed. That's no east feat pulling off a party w/ a MIA dad (we've had our share too). Love the cake ... did you use a pan or bowls? Such a cute idea.

I can't believe he's five. I still remember your football belly at the med school party right before you had him!
