Off to Oregon!

What will happen this time? I think I'm a bit scared! See you in a week and a half! That is, unless I feel like posting there. Guess we'll see!

Two dozen of fun

Easter this year made me realize how much my kids have grown up over the last year. Dyeing eggs last year was more of a pain in the tail than it was fun. They were more interested in spilling the color and smashing the eggs last year, so it wasn't so much fun for me. But this year! They were really excited to do it and they had so much fun. I think we sat around the table for over an hour dyeing the eggs. And the best part was that they didn't sit down with the intent to mutilate them! They actually wanted to do something constructive.

They each picked three colors. Search, or course, picked orange. And yellow and red. They carefully put their own eggs in, lovingly turned them and gently scooped them out.

Yum. Vinegar. No, he didn't get a hold of my lipstick (what lipstick?), the red dye gave his lips a nice touch of color :)

We tried the new tye-dyeing technique this year. It turned out really cool! Destroy had a blast doing this and was very meticulous his his technique.

orange.

Then yellow.

Now red.

The best thing about Easter eggs is the photo ops! Well, at least it would have been if my camera hadn't pooped out. So, this is all I got.

Aren't they pretty colors?

We were successful, and only a few eggs cracked in the process. I can't say the same for today though. The boys playing with the eggs has subjected them to further damage. Oh well, Easter's over. Maybe we'll have egg fights now!

Happy Easter!

Today would have been perfect if it hadn't snowed! More pictures to come...

Obsession

With these. Campari tomatoes from Costco. Yum. Plain. With salt. In fajitas. In salad. While Destroy is at school, Search and I enjoy these together in sandwiches because he loves them too. Here's the line-up:

Bread grilled with melted cheese (aka grilled cheese)
Ranch dressing
These juicy red babies
Lettuce
Turkey and ham; warmed on the griddle

Mmmmm, heaven.

A burst of life in this lone and dreary wilderness

In our backyard (which is now a swimming pool).

More homemade words

This morning while getting up the courage to start our day, Search, Destroy and I were lazily doing random things. Destroy was intently perfecting some artwork, sitting across from me at the counter while I was making some ranch dressing (I'm a ranch snob). I had to use the beaters, which were a bit loud on his poor little ears (funny how yelling at his top volume doesn't seem to affect those "poor little ears", just ours). Evidently, this obnoxious noise was disagreeable to a functional artistic atmosphere, so he decided to let me know.

"Mom, you are being too loud. I can't consapate".
Suppressing my giggles, "OK, Buddy, I'll stop so that you can consapate".
"Thanks, Mom", continuing to perfect important project.

Now, what would I have to blog about if I didn't have these creative little minds that can combine words like constipate and concentrate and still be disgustingly cute about it?

LDS Kids DVD's

In efforts to make my wild boys look like genious children in primary and nursery, I'm looking for LDS Book of Mormon/Bible stories on DVD. Does anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone heard of have any of the ones produced by "Liken the Scriptures"?
